Bayern Munich Frauen’s Sydney Lohmann is recording career-high numbers.

In just 11 appearances in the 2020/21 Frauen Bundesliga season, Bayern Munich Frauen’s Sydney Lohmann has registered career-high numbers. She has nine goals and four assists in the domestic league and another two goals in the UEFA Champions League.

Thie impressive start to the season has already made sure that Lohmann’s has surpassed her numbers previously recorded in her first four seasons combined with the senior team. She has firmly established herself as the key player in Bayern’s team.

Leading the way in goal scoring

Lohmann currently leads Bayern in goal scoring with her 11 goals in all competitions. At just 20, she has been a very impressive goal scorer and is producing at a consistent rate. She has failed to score in just four of her 13 appearances for Bayern so far in the 2020/21 campaign.

In the Frauen Bundesliga, she ranks third in the league in goals scored as she trails Eintracht Frankfurt’s Laura Freigang who has 10 goals, and Hoffenheim’s Nicole Billa who is at the top with 14 goals.

More from Bayern Strikes

The majority of Lohmann’s goals have not come from the penalty spot. She ranks third in the German top flight in non-penalty goals per 90 minutes played and non-penalty goals and assists per 90 minutes played. She’s finishing her opportunities from open play and has been displaying a tremendous ability to score.

Lohmann’s recent goal against Ajax in the Champions League round of 32 first leg was a fantastic strike from outside the penalty area that found the bottom corner of the net after a great dribble through the midfield. This goal was a perfect example of the goal-scoring quality she possesses.

A bright future ahead

Lohmann recently signed a contract that will see her stay with Bayern until 2024. This was a great move by the club to keep their rising star for the near future as she continues to become one of the best players in the Frauen Bundesliga. The 20-year-old has a bright future ahead if she can continue to produce consistent goals and assists for Bayern and help lead them to titles.
