Bayern Munich set to lose Angelo Stiller in summer
Bayern Munich will reportedly lose a young midfielder to the Bundesliga club in the summer transfer window.
In the last decade, Bayern Munich has been astute sellers in the transfer window. They manage to hold on to key players for a long time. The German Champions found themselves in an awkward situation with David Alaba‘s contract situation, but it is one of those rare cases. Die Roten has also been smart with managing the future of players from the academy.
However, the recent reports in Germany suggest that Bayern is about to lose a talented young player next summer. According to Sport1, Angelo Stiller is set to leave Bavaria on a free transfer to join Hoffenheim next summer. This report insists that Stiller is eager to reunite with his reserves manager Sebastian Hoeness at Hoffenheim.
Stiller has been reportedly rated highly at Bayern. In the past, the German midfielder has been linked with Arsenal. He came on to make his debut for the senior team last week at Wanda Metropolitano against Atletico Madrid. Considering his contract is expiring next summer, Die Roten is unlikely to add a buyback clause in it.
From Stiller’s point of view, it is understandable that he is looking for a transfer to get regular playing time at the first-team level. With Hoeness doing a decent job at Hoffenheim, Stiller will be playing under a manager that has helped him to develop at the youth level.

Midfield is a very difficult position for younger players at Bayern to succeed due to the amount of talent in the first team. Stiller currently has the likes of Javi Martinez, Joshua Kimmich, Leon Goretzka, Marc Roca, and Corentin Tolisso ahead of him. Moreover, Hansi Flick has been using Jamal Musiala as a central midfielder in the past couple of weeks.
Adrian Fein impressed during his loan spell at Hamburg last season. There were reports suggesting that the German midfielder will get chances in the first team at Bayern this season. Fein trained with the first team since July and eventually left the club in the final week of the window to join PSV Eindhoven on a season-long loan.
The German Champions need to find a way that young players get a fair chance at the first team level if they impress in reserves or loan spells. Stiller leaving the club on a free transfer is sad, but if he impresses at Hoffenheim, then Rekordmeister may bring him back to Bavaria in the future.
In the senior team, Die Roten is set to bid farewell to Javi Martinez next summer after the Spaniard confirmed that he would leave when his contract expires in June 2021. Alaba and Jerome Boateng also enter the last few months of their contract, but things could change in their case.
