Leroy Sane’s return to the Bundesliga

At the start of July, Die Roten moved quickly to seal the signing of Leroy Sane from Manchester City. The German Champions had identified Sane as their prime transfer target 12 months ago. They failed to sign him last summer due to a serious injury to the player, so they wasted no time to get it done even before the end of the 2019/20 campaign in England.

Sane will sprinkle stardust on an already brilliant attacking unit at Bayern. The German winger can play on both flanks, but he is at his best on the right flank. Die Roten missed out on signing him when he joined Man City from Schalke in 2016, but they are getting a much more mature player now.

Since Sane has already played in the Bundesliga, he will have zero problems in adapting to new surroundings. The German winger became a well-rounded winger under Pep Guardiola at Man City, consistently contributing with goals and assists.

On paper, the prospect of seeing Serge Gnabry, Sane, and Robert Lewandowski leading the attack for Die Roten is mouthwatering. The German winger will bring more flexibility and impetus in the final third. Expectations will be high from Sane, but he has the talent to become one of the best wide players in Europe after a lengthy layoff from injury last season.
