It was another dominant victory for Bayern Munich Frauen in the Frauen-Bundesliga.

For a second consecutive week, Bayern Munich Frauen recorded a clean sheet victory. They defeated the newly promoted side Werder Bremen. 4-0, to make it six points from their first two matches of the 2020/21 season.

It was a similar storyline to last week’s resounding 6-0 win over SC Sand with different goal scorers contributing to the winning effort. Four separate players found the back of the net for Die Roten against Bremen.

New signing Viviane Asseyi started things off with a goal in the 38th minute and Linda Dallmann quickly made it 2-0 in the 40th minute. Swedish defender Amanda Ilestedt and midfielder Sydney Lohmann added second-half goals 10 minutes apart to put the result beyond any doubt.

Goalkeeper Laura Benkarth picked up her second clean sheet of the season. She now leads all goalkeepers in the Frauen-Bundesliga for the most clean sheets recorded this season.

More from Bayern Strikes

Asseyi scores again

The French striker has been in very good form to start the season. After arriving in the summer from Bordeaux, she has proven to be very effective in front of goal. It should come as little surprise that she has been able to be so efficient. She scored very frequently last season as Asseyi recorded 12 goals during the 2019/20 Division 1 Feminine campaign.

Asseyi appears ready to help lead the way offensively for Die Roten. She is capable of giving the club a consistent source of goals throughout the campaign. As the season continues she could very well contend for the Golden Boot in the Frauen-Bundesliga.

Lohmann excelling

It’s been a great start for Lohmann. The 20-year-old midfielder did not score a goal last season but she has already registered two goals this season. Only two matches into the season and it’s looking like she will be in for a big year ahead.

The German international is one of the up and coming talents for the national team. If she can continue to be influential for Die Roten there are sure to be more opportunities at the international level to come.

Looking ahead

Bayern will not have a match next weekend but they will return the following week. Their next opponents are set to be SC Freiburg who have won one of their two opening fixtures. Both of their meetings last season ended in victories for Bayern. This will be an opportunity for Die Roten to pick up another key three points in the title race.
