Bayern Munich: David Alaba’s entourage slam Uli Hoeness
Bayern Munich defender’s entourage issues a statement after Uli Hoeness criticism.
Along with bringing in players to bolster the squad, Bayern Munich is also focussing on securing the future of David Alaba. The Austrian defender is reportedly far from reaching an agreement as both parties remain far away from reaching an agreement.
Over the weekend, Uli Hoeness slammed Alaba’s entourage for asking more money for contract renewal. The former club president also urged Alaba to stay as he is already at the best club, and there is no better place than Munich for him right now.
Earlier this year, Alaba had appointed Pini Zahavi as his new agent. Since Zahavi’s appointment, there has been constant speculation about Alaba’s future. The Austrian defender’s agent and father have hit back at claims made by Hoeness over the weekend.
On Monday, Bild reported that Zahavi also wants a very hefty fee as commission to broker the new contract. Speaking to Sky Sports in Germany, Zahavi made it clear that he is yet to even discuss fees with Die Roten, and the figures mentioned are wrong. Alaba’s father also told Sky Sports that he is disappointed with the comments made by Hoeness and insisted that Alaba has been loyal to the club for so many years.
"“I brought David Alaba to Bayern as a youngster. Over the years I’ve had the opportunity to transfer David to another club several times. But we were loyal and always decided to stay. I didn’t expect that FC Bayern is now spreading dirty lies in public about salary and commission claims.”"

Alaba also spoke to SportBild on Monday to express his disappointment with the comments made by Hoeness. Die Roten rightfully has not made any comments regarding the war of words between Hoeness and Alaba’s entourage.
Hoeness is no longer one of the key decision-makers at the club since stepping down as president last November. He is still part of the board, but the German is unlikely to make an impact on negotiations regarding contract renewals. The German Champions are eager to keep Alaba since he is an important player for Hansi Flick.
Alaba currently has ten months left on his contract. There have been no offers for the Austrian defender yet, so it will be a big surprise if he leaves the club this summer. However, Die Roten will be desperate to avoid him leaving on a free transfer since he is worth a fee excess of €50 million in the current market.
Along with extending contract renewals, Die Roten are in the market to sign a new right-back and winger. Flick is confident that the club would be able to make those additions before the deadline day on October 5.
