Corentin Tolisso remains determined to stay at Bayern Munich next season.

The midfield options are going to be interesting for Bayern Munich next season. Thiago Alcantara has reportedly agreed to personal terms with Liverpool as he remains eager to experience a new adventure in his career. Along with his departure, Javi Martinez could also be on his way out of the club this summer.

Adrian Fein is likely to get a chance to impress in the first team after a successful loan spell at Hamburg. The German club is reportedly looking at one more midfield addition, but Corentin Tolisso could help them in saving money this summer.

The French midfielder has been heavily linked with a move to Italy in the past few months. He has struggled to get playing time under Hansi Flick. With Euros around the corner, Tolisso had previously insisted that he wants to play regularly next campaign.

With so many expected midfield departures, Tolisso seems to have changed his stance regarding his future. Speaking to L’Equipe during the weekend, the French World Cup winner admitted that he wants to play in Bavarian colours next season. He also insisted that Flick is counting on him for next year.

"“I see my future at Bayern. Today it is one of the best clubs in the world, if not the best. I have had injuries but now I am feeling well.”“I was able to speak with the coach, I know he is counting on me.”"

More from Bayern Strikes

Tolisso became Die Roten’s club-record transfer in 2017. He enjoyed a promising debut campaign, contributing with goals from midfield. After the World Cup triumph in Russia, Tolisso was expected to get even better, but a serious knee injury at the start of the 2018/19 season ruled him out for more than 12 months.

By the time Tolisso returned from injury, other midfielders were ahead of him in the pecking order. He struggled to get a sustained run in the team this season, getting minutes here and there. Courtesy of less playing time, Tolisso was linked with a move to Inter Milan. Manchester United were also linked with a loan move during the winter transfer window.

Tolisso ended up staying at the club. His rotten luck with injuries continued as he suffered a serious injury when Die Roten returned to training after lockdown. The Frenchman was not able to feature in the remaining Bundesliga games as he returned to action against Chelsea in the Champions League.

Thiago’s departure might have opened the prospect of playing more for Tolisso next season. The French midfielder will be behind Leon Goretzka and Joshua Kimmich in the pecking order, but throughout the season, he will get more minutes on the pitch. Since the club has no plans to make big signings, keeping Tolisso would be a smart decision.
