Predicted Starting XI for Bayern Munich

Hansi Flick has been fairly consistent with his starting XI throughout Ruckrunde. He started making changes after the title was clinched against Werder Bremen two weeks ago. The German manager will revert to his best lineup against Leverkusen.

Manuel Neuer will start in the goal. The German international is enjoying his best form this season after a drop off in the last couple of seasons. Flick is likely to stick with Jerome Boateng and David Alaba in the heart of the defense. Both experienced players have played the majority of the season together in central defense. Benjamin Pavard and Alphonso Davies will slot in their respective full-back positions.

More from Bayern Strikes

In the midfield department, the selection is straightforward. Mickael Cuisance impressed against Wolfsburg while Thiago is back in the squad, but that is hardly going to change Flick’s mind for this game. Joshua Kimmich and Leon Goretzka will form the midfield pivot against Leverkusen. The German duo has been impressive since Thiago suffered an injury at the start of June.

Thomas Muller set a new record for the most number of assists in a single Bundesliga campaign last weekend. The German forward will be looking to have a similar impact when he starts in number ten role on Saturday. Kingsley Coman and Serge Gnabry will play on either side of Muller while Robert Lewandowski will lead the line for cup holders.
