Leroy Sane is doing everything possible to seal a move to Bayern Munich in the summer transfer window.
Bayern Munich seems to have narrowed down the potential transfer targets for the summer transfer window. Leroy Sane looks to be the player that will improve the attack, while Sergino Dest is likely to be an addition in defense. The former has reportedly agreed to personal terms with Rekordmeister, while the latter’s agent has confirmed the interest of the German club.
According to SportBild, Sane is set to take a 30 percent cut in the salary which he was demanding from Die Roten before coronavirus pandemic hit Europe. This report also insists that two clubs are yet to start negotiations to complete this transfer.
Sane’s stance about salary surely indicates that he is dedicated to joining Bayern over other clubs. Since the German winger is entering the final year of the contract at Man City, he will have many suitors in the summer despite the coronavirus pandemic.
This bit of update regarding Sane’s contract with Die Roten strengthens the hand of the German club while negotiating a fee for him. Last summer, Man City were asking Die Roten to pay over the odds for Sane. However, they will have to accept a cut-price deal this summer rather than seeing him leave on a free transfer next summer.

Die Roten has always been looking to add top German talent to their squad. They moved swiftly to secure the signings of Serge Gnabry and Leon Goretzka in the past few seasons, making sure that they have a German spine in the squad. The recent acquisition of Alexander Nubel also reaffirms the club’s strategy to sign top German players from the Bundesliga.
Sane also fits Die Roten’s recruitment policy. The club didn’t fight for his signature in 2016 and relied on Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery for few more years. It turned out to be a costly mistake for the German club as the veteran duo consistently struggled with injuries in the past few seasons, while Sane flourished under Guardiola in England.
On the flip side, they are getting much more polished winger than they would have got in 2016. Sane has become an efficient player in the final third under the guidance of Guardiola. Moreover, Die Roten is not going to end up paying a big fee for him due to his stance of not signing a new contract with the English club.
After a frustrating transfer saga last summer, the deal to bring Sane to Bavaria is closer than ever before. The player is completely in line with the German club’s project, doing everything possible to facilitate a deal. Sane has prime years of his career ahead of him, so this transfer could go down one of the best for the club in the recent future.
