MID, Joshua Kimmich — 7/10

Joshua Kimmich was the calmest player on the pitch for Die Roten in terms of retaining possession. The German midfielder dictated the play from the deep, moving the ball quickly to increase the tempo of the game. He rounded off a good midfield performance with a tidy assist for Pavard’s goal, delivering an inch-perfect cross for the corner.

More from Bayern Strikes

MID, Thiago Alcantara — 6/10

The Spaniard hardly misplaces a pass in the game, but today it was a bit different for him. He was executing the simple passes with ease, but the defense splitting passes were way off the radar. Thiago gave away the ball cheaply on numerous occasions due to poor decision making. A rare off day in 2020 for Thiago.

MID, Leon Goretzka— 6/10

Leon Goretzka was a nuisance for Union Berlin in the final third as he made good runs and held the ball well. However, his poor decision making always let him down. He came close to scoring at the start of second half when his ferocious strike was just inches away from the target. The German midfielder was eventually replaced by Coman for the final quarter of the game.
