Hansi Flick is reportedly on board with Bayern Munich to sign the German star in the summer transfer window.
Bayern Munich finally completed the final paperwork this week to appoint Hansi Flick as their new permanent manager. The German coach signed a two year deal with the club. With uncertainty surrounding the current campaign, Die Roten will be looking to plan for the future after appointing Flick.
The defending Bundesliga champions are expected to make big signings in summer despite the ongoing pandemic’s negative financial impact on football transfers. Die Roten will be looking to bolster their attack as they need to add at least one world-class player in this department.
Flick has been vocal about transfers during his interim days as Bayern manager. The German manager reportedly wanted to sign Timo Werner from RB Leipzig to improve the attacking options. However, the latest German report hints that Flick may have been convinced to sign Leroy Sane from Manchester City.
According to SportBild, Flick is no longer against signing Sane in the summer transfer window. This report also suggests that Flick has already held conversations with the German winger about working together in Bavaria next season.

This report surely hints that Flick and the club hierarchy are on the same wavelength regarding transfers. Die Roten tried to clinch Sane’s transfer last summer. As things were moving in a positive direction, Sane suffered a serious knee injury, which kept him out for more than six months. Rekordmeister decided against completing the transfer and looked at temporary options in the market.
Sane had two years left on his contract at Man City last summer. Pep Guardiola had confirmed that talks have stalled with the player for a new deal. Since Sane will be entering the final year of his contract, Die Roten has a great chance of completing a cut-price deal for him. They were reportedly asked to pay a nine-figure fee last summer, but that is not going to happen this year.
If Flick decides to go ahead with Sane transfer, then the club may decide against pursuing RB Leipzig’s Timo Werner. The German striker has been heavily linked with a move to Bavaria for the past 18 months, but the club didn’t make a concrete approach last summer when he had only one year left on his contract at Leipzig.
Apart from Sane, Rekordmeister may look to add another winger to the squad. This may happen by signing Ivan Perisic permanently from Inter Milan. The German club is reportedly interested in completing the transfer. Sane will add stardust to the starting XI, while Perisic can play an important role for the team as an option from the bench.
