Match Preview-Bayern Munich look to start new winning run against Cologne

Predicted Starting XI

Consistency in team selection has reaped the rewards for Flick, so I think he will continue to follow this mantra. Neuer will continue in goal despite suffering a minor knock this week. Since Lucas Hernandez will need some time to get into match rhythm, Jerome Boateng will continue to start along with David Alaba in central defense. Alphonso Davies and Benjamin Pavard will slot in the full-back positions.

The midfield selection is also straightforward due to the performances of all three men in the past few games. Joshua Kimmich will sit at the base of the midfield and dictate the proceedings from the deep. Thiago Alcantara has excelled as a number eight, so he will continue in that position. Leon Goretzka will complete the midfield three by playing higher up the pitch in the number ten role.

Serge Gnabry had a difficult outing against RB Leipzig, but he will still get a nod for this game. Kingsley Coman needs to ease into the team as he just returned from a knee injury. Thomas Muller will look to maintain his good form on the right flank, and Robert Lewandowski will lead the line for the visitors.
