Karl-Heinz Rummenigge is impressed with Hansi Flick’s work as manager of the first team at Bayern Munich.

Bayern Munich have witnessed a sudden upturn in form after Niko Kovac‘s departure at the start of November. The German champions have won four out of their last five games across all competitions under Hansi Flick.

Along with four victories, Bayern have also improved their style of play under Flick in a very short time. Even in the defeat against Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday, Bayern’s performance was dominating as they just lacked the efficiency in front of the box.

The Bundesliga champions still have a long way to go this season, but it is looking likely that Flick will be managing the team till the end of this season. The latest reports suggest that the club has decided to give Flick the interim role after seeing these impressive performances.

Bayern’s CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge also hailed Flick’s influence on the team. While speaking to media on weekend (via SZ), Rummenigge hinted that Flick is likely to continue beyond the winter break. He also insisted that the club is impressed with the style of play Flick has implemented in such a short period.

"“It is important that we have a coach in him who fits in well with the team and I can imagine that we will continue with him throughout the winter.”“The most important thing is the match plan, the quality of the game and that’s right with Hansi Flick. “We are very pleased with him, it is a lot to feel empathy and just a clear match plan.”"

More from Bayern Strikes

Die Roten reportedly held talks with Flick during the international break. The club announced during the annual general meeting that Flick would continue to manage the team till the winter break. It is now looking likely that Bayern will negotiate a short-term contract with Flick at the end of December.

Flick got the team hit the ground running straight away by getting victories against Olympiakos and Borussia Dortmund before the international break last month. Die Roten have scored 17 goals under Flick in five games and conceded only two goals. This clearly shows that Bayern has improved in both the boxes under the German coach.

Apart from tactics, Flick’s man-management skills have also been hailed by Bayern players. The German coach has stuck with a fixed starting lineup for most of the games but kept on praising the work done by the players that are fighting for more playing time.

Bayern still have work to do in the Bundesliga to retain their title. Flick surely has helped them to get back on track, but they need to maintain this current form throughout the next few months to challenge for titles. Flick’s appointment as interim manager will give Bayern’s board an ample amount of time to think about their next permanent manager.
