Uli Hoeness leaves Bayern Munich

During the international break, key events took place at Bayern. The club bid farewell to Uli Hoeness on 15th November. Hoeness served Bayern in an administerial capacity for 40 years. The former German forward was appointed as the president of Bayern Munich in 2009.

Hoeness delivered a tearful farewell speech during the Annual General Meeting (AGM) last month. Herbert Hainer has replaced Hoeness as the new president of Die Roten. Hainer has been part of Bayern’s board since 2002.

More from Bayern Strikes

Apart from Hainer, there will be more changes in Bayern’s board over the next six months. Oliver Kahn is set to join the club at the start of 2020. He will eventually replace Karl-Heinz Rummenigge after two years. Hasan Salihamidzic’s contract is set to be extended, and he will also join the board at the end of the 2019/20 campaign.

During the AGM, Bayern also announced that Hansi Flick would continue to manage the first team till the winter break. Die Roten reportedly held talks with Flick during the international break and came to this conclusion. The latest developments suggest that Flick is likely to get the interim role after delivering good results and performances in his first few games.
