Bayern Munich is reportedly ready to move for Mauricio Pochettino if he becomes available in summer.
This international break is likely to see many managers linked with Bayern Munich. The club decided to part ways with Niko Kovac after the humiliating 5-1 defeat against Eintracht Frankfurt in the matchday 10 of the Bundesliga.
Hansi Flick got the team back on track by delivering two solid performances against Borussia Dortmund and Olympiakos. Die Roten is set to hold talks with Flick about continuing in this role for the time being and then make a better assessment in the winter break.
If Flick continues to deliver positive performances till the winter break, then Bayern will likely hand him the interim managerial role. However, the German club is reportedly looking at some of the most exciting managers to take up this position in summer.
According to The Athletic (via Fox Sports), Bayern Munich would prefer to appoint Mauricio Pochettino from Tottenham Hotspurs as their next manager. The English outlet suggests that Pochettinho is looking likely to leave in Spurs in summer.
This report also insists that Die Roten will face tough competition from Real Madrid and Manchester United. Jose Mourinho meanwhile is not currently considered as one of the candidates for this position by Bayern.

Sport1’s Florian Plettenberg also insisted that Bayern is interested in Pochettino. Hasan Salihamidzic is a big admirer of the Argentine manager. However, Pochettino’s current deal at Spurs’ is set to expire in 2023, and negotiating with Daniel Levy, Spurs chief, remains one of the toughest jobs in football.
Spurs have struggled this season, but Pochettino’s work at the club in the last five years has been impressive. The English side is now playing Champions League every season. Pochettino’s team narrowly missed out on the European title last season, when Liverpool clinched a 2-0 victory in the final.
Pochettino has improved the young players at Spurs and done phenomenally well in a limited transfer budget. He is very adaptable in terms of tactics and can implement different styles depending on the opponent. The biggest concern is his in-game management as he struggles to influence the game when going gets tough.
Bayern has been previously linked with Pochettino. The Argentine will be a good fit for the club, but the deal will be expensive to bring him to the Allianz Arena. Apart from Pochettino, Bayern had reportedly contacted Ajax manager Erik Ten Hag for the managerial role.
