Bayern Munich midfielder Renato Sanches is reportedly a summer transfer target for Fenerbahce.

The last couple of weeks have been busy for Bayern Munich as the club has announced numerous departures. Mats Hummels was the most high profile departure last week as the German defender returned to Borussia Dortmund. The Bundesliga champions could offload more fringe players this summer in order to make space for new signings.

Renato Sanches is one of these players that will be playing for the different club next summer. The Portuguese midfielder is determined to seal a transfer away from Bayern after enduring a frustrating season under Niko Kovac. Sanches has been recently linked with a move to Turkey.

According to A Bola, Sanches has emerged as a transfer target for Fenerbahce. The Turkish club tried to sign Sanches last summer but couldn’t agree to a deal with Die Roten. This report also insists that Paris Saint Germain remain interested in the 21-year-old midfielder.

More from Bayern Strikes

Sanches was tipped to leave Bayern last summer after coming back from a disastrous loan spell at Swansea City. The central midfielder was urged to stay at the club by Kovac as the Croatian was confident about getting the best out of him. Kovac also urged the club and fans to show patience with the young midfielder.

The former Benfica midfielder was determined to repay the faith shown by Kovac. He started the season on a good note by delivering a strong performance against his former club. Kovac used him in every alternate game as he rotated his starting lineup every game. Sanches continued to play well in the limited amount of games he was starting.

However, after a poor run of form in October and November, Kovac stuck to a fixed system and lineup. This sudden change in approach eventually led to the reduction of gametime for Sanches. The Portuguese midfielder was frustrated with this situation and publicly expressed his unhappiness about less playing time. He also admitted that he will be looking for a permanent transfer in summer instead of going on loan once again.

Bayern Munich still has faith in Sanches but this summer could be the right time for him to depart. The competition in the midfield department will be even more intense next season. Corentin Tolisso is completely fit right now while the club is also trying to sign a world class defensive midfielder. Sanches still has time on his side but he is unlikely to fulfill his potential at Bayern and it will be better for all parties if a transfer is arranged this summer.
