Bayern Munich weighing up alternatives for Leroy Sane
Bayern Munich is reportedly looking at different players as the transfer of Leroy Sane from Manchester City is looking unlikely at the moment.
The arrival of an attacking player is anticipated at Bayern Munich this summer. Die Roten need at least one addition in this area after releasing Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery. The club has been linked with numerous wingers in last one year, but Leroy Sane has emerged as the top candidate for this position in the past couple of months.
Bayern Munich has publicly declared their interest in the Manchester City winger. Uli Hoeness has been pessimistic about completing this transfer due to the transfer fee demands of the Premier League club. The latest reports in Germany indicate that the chances of this transfer are diminishing.
According to SportBild, Bayern is ready to cough up €90 million for Leroy Sane. However, the player is eager to play under Pep Guardiola and has reservations about a move to Bayern. The German club has numerous players in their list that are seen as alternatives to Sane.

Timo Werner is considered as the player that Bayern could sign if they fail to sign Sane. The German striker is reportedly determined to join Die Roten and he is still refusing to sign a new contract at RB Leipzig. Bayern and Leipzig are not on the same page regarding the transfer fee for Werner. There were reports in Germany suggesting that the Bundesliga champions might wait till next summer to sign Werner on a free transfer.
Yannick Carrasco is the other winger that is being considered by Bayern. The Belgian wants to return to Europe and he is trying to force a move away from Dalian Yifang. He has been currently suspended by the Chinese club for going on a striker to seal a move back to Europe. Bayern will face competition from Arsenal for Carrasco.
This report also insists that Chelsea’s Callum Hudson-Odoi remains a transfer target for the German champions. There have been numerous reports in England claiming that Hudson-Odoi is close to signing a new contract at Chelsea but SportBild insists that the player is still keen to make a switch to Bavaria. Julian Draxler also remains an option while the club has completely discarded the signing of Nicolas Pepe.
Carrasco is the most realistic name mentioned in this list but not exactly the best option for Die Roten. The Belgian’s transfer fee is less compared to other players but he is as inconsistent as the other two young forwards. He can be a good squad player at Bayern but cannot be the gamechanger the club wants to add to their attack.
Bayern should try to bring Werner this summer if they fail to sign Sane. The German striker has been playing in the Bundesliga for past three seasons and been a very good goalscorer for Leipzig. He will immediately add more goals to the attack and can also operate as a striker to reduce the workload of Robert Lewandowski.
