Bayern Munich midfielder Leon Goretzka believes that Leroy Sane will be a fantastic summer buy for the club.

The summer transfer rumors are gathering pace as top clubs start fighting for the signature of world-class players. This transfer window is going to be very crucial for Bayern Munich as they will start rebuilding the squad by signing young players.

Die Roten have already completed two major deals to sort their struggling defense. The focus will now switch to sign an attacking player that can fill the void left by Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery. Niko Kovac also reportedly wants a world class holding midfielder along with an attacking player.

Leroy Sane has emerged as the chief transfer target for Bayern in the attack. The German winger struggled to get regular gametime at Manchester City last season which has lead to intense speculation over his future. Speaking to Bild (via Goal), Goretzka insisted that Sane will be a fantastic addition to the squad. The German midfielder is not going to put pressure on Sane to join Bayern but he admits that Bavaria is still a top attraction for top talent.

"“One thing is clear, we would all be ecstatic if he comes.”“I think that Bayern can definitely keep up in that regard. It’s still one of the best and biggest clubs in the world. Leroy knows that.”“He’s felt really good in England in the past few years. Now he has to decide for himself what the right move is.”"

More from Bayern Strikes

Joshua Kimmich and Robert Lewandowski have previously heaped praise on the German winger. The club chiefs have also publicly admitted the interest in the German international. However, Bayern hierarchy has rubbished the reports suggesting that the club had a bid rejected for the former Schalke winger.

Sane is yet to make a decision over his future, so Bayern is not expected to make a move unless the player gives the nod to this transfer. Man City are reportedly ready to sell the winger but only for a nine-figure fee which might be very excessive for the German champions. Uli Hoeness remains pessimistic about this signing due to the crazy demands of the English club.

The likes of Kingsley Coman and Serge Gnabry ended the season well while Alphonso Davies has shown glimpses of his potential. They still need one more option to improve their attack and have healthy competition for places in the starting eleven. Sane is the ideal player for Bayern as he satisfies all the attributes that the club wants in an attacking player right now.

The Bavarians are looking at other alternatives as the German media reported that Yannick Carrasco has emerged as a fallback option. The likes of Nicolas Pepe and Timo Werner have also been heavily linked with a move to Bavaria. Callum Hudson-Odoi meanwhile is close to signing a new deal at Chelsea. It will be interesting to see which player Bayern will target if they fail to land Sane.
