Bayern Munich defender Joshua Kimmich believes that his fellow Germany international Leroy Sane would be the perfect signing for his club.

Bayern Munich will have a new look attack next season as the club will try to make key additions to the squad. The Bundesliga champions need to find the right type of player in order to replace Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery. They already have some talented wingers, but one more top class addition will take Bayern’s attack to the next level.

Die Roten have been linked with numerous attacking players in the past year. However, the most concrete links have emerged with Manchester City’s Leroy Sane over the past month. The German giants have publicly declared their interest in the 23-year-old but have also admitted that the deal will be complicated due to the huge fees involved.

Joshua Kimmich is the latest Bayern player to back the transfer of Sane. Speaking to Bild (via Goal), Kimmich insisted that Sane would be the perfect signing for Bayern Munich. The German defender is baffled that Sane struggled to get regular game time at Man City last season. He further added that Bayern would send a strong message by signing Sane.

"“I would like to have Leroy at Bayern, that would send the right message. He is a player who would be a good fit at Bayern. I think he is a very good player.“He has great potential but was not allowed to play at City last season, which I cannot understand. But it is his decision and the task of those responsible to convince him.”"

Robert Lewandowski also spoke glowingly about Sane last month. The German winger would be a brilliant signing for Bayern, considering his consistent performances over the last two seasons in England.

He is a traditional winger that provides width along with the right amount of flair and trickery in the final third. Sane’s productivity in the final third has also been very impressive under Pep Guardiola.

The German international will surely play on the left flank at Bayern if this transfer is completed. Die Roten don’t have a natural right winger, but Kingsley Coman and Serge Gnabry can do a very good job in that position. Gnabry, in fact, enjoyed a fine debut campaign at Bayern by playing on the right side for most of the games.

Bayern are yet to open negotiations with Man City despite rumors surfacing about a first bid being rejected. The English club will try to get a nine-figure fee for Sane, which might eventually jeopardize this deal. Sane has two years left of his current contract with Man City, and he has been deliberating over talks for a new deal for the past year.

The Bundesliga champions have a habit of signing top German talent. Sane will be a huge addition to the squad that can help them do well in Europe. Things will become clear after the international games, as Sane is yet to decide about his future at City. If the German winger decides to leave, then Bayern will surely make a huge effort to bring him to Bavaria.
