Bayern Munich confident about signing Aaron Ramsey
Bayern Munich has reportedly taken significant steps in completing the signing of Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey on a free transfer.
Bayern Munich are planning to rebuild their squad in the 2019 summer transfer window. The Bavarians are enduring a difficult season and sit fifth in the Bundesliga table. After making a brilliant start at his new club, Niko Kovac has struggled to lead his team to success over the past few months.
Bayern have many veteran players in their squad, and Uli Hoeness has already confirmed that they plan to make big changes to their squad in the summer. With a reported €200 million war chest, the Bavarians are ready to spend big on players for the future.
Their first move, however, might not involve spending any of their transfer budget. Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey, whose contract expires in June, has reportedly emerged as a top target for the German giant.

According to The Independent, Bayern Munich are confident they’ll win the race for Ramsey’s signature. The Bavarians have found a breakthrough in talks with the Welshman and his agent. There has been much interest in the player from England’s top clubs, but based on the report, Bayern believe they have won the race to sign him.
The Germans have the upper hand over their English counterparts, as they can agree a pre-contract with the player in January. Bayern Munich are no stranger to this type of signing and have completed one like it several times in the past few years, including last winter with Leon Goretzka. The German midfielder joined Bayern in the summer after his contract expired at Schalke.
The Welshman has spent ten years at Arsenal and played a crucial role in their recent success. He is primarily an attacking midfielder who can also operate in a box-to-box midfield role. The former Cardiff man has a tremendous knack of scoring goals and creating chances in the final third on a consistent basis. But his constant injury problems will be a big concern for Bayern, as will his wage demands.
This will be a pretty strange signing for Bayern unless they don’t plan to sign James Rodriguez on a permanent basis. Ramsey would provide a goal-scoring edge to their midfield, but Bayern already have plenty of players to fill this role. Moreover, given his transfer will be free, Ramsey’s wage demands will likely be outrageous. There are more drawbacks than advantages to this potential signing, but Bayern’s reported interest in Ramsey is starting to seem real.
