Bayern Munich could be in for a big summer overhaul if SportBild’s latest report, suggesting several big names are up for sale, is to be believed.

Transfer rumors have been spreading like wildfire across the last few weeks. There’s much uncertainty around the future of Bayern Munich, with a new manager joining soon and several players giving ominous signs about their futures.

A recent report from SportBild suggests that the Bavarians are ready to sell several big name players for the right offer. Among those listed in the report are Juan Bernat, Arturo Vidal, Thiago Alcantara and Jerome Boateng.

Juan Bernat’s inclusion on that list should come as a surprise to no one. After another disappointing season in Bavaria, nobody expects the 25-year-old to spend another season at the club.

More from Bayern Strikes

Even Arturo Vidal would not represent a shock exit from Bayern. The Chilean, whose contract expires next summer, has long been linked with a move away from the club this summer.

The other two names on the list are slightly more baffling. It’s especially surprising to see that Bayern Munich would be willing to sell Thiago. The Spaniard recently made a shocking statement about his future, but is still one of the best midfielders in the game. According to Christian Falk, though, Thiago wants out of the club. If a substantial offer is made for the player, Bayern would listen.

Oddly enough, this is the exact opposite approach the board has taken with Robert Lewandowski. The Pole’s desire to move on has been evident for quite some time, yet the board remain adamant that he’ll still be wearing red next season.

Finally, Jerome Boateng is the last player on the list. For the right price, it wouldn’t be too big of a surprise to see him depart the club. Injury prone and inching ever closer to 30-years-old, Boateng isn’t quite the player he used to be. With Niklas Sule emerging as a world-class center-back, Bayern may feel Boateng’s services are no longer required (and his wages no longer necessary to pay).

It’s difficult to imagine Bayern selling all four of these players, but not impossible. Surely the money gained from the quartet would be put toward finding either ample reinforcements in defense or big name power in attack, despite the recent claim that the club has no star signings planned for the summer.
