Bayern Munich: Heynckes dismisses rumors of bust up with Lewandowski
Bayern Munich manager Jupp Heynckes has dismissed the rumors suggesting he has fallen out with striker Robert Lewandowski.
The Polish striker was subject to criticism after a poor performance against Real Madrid on Wednesday. Bayern Munich lost the first leg by two goals, after going one up against the Spanish side. Lewandowski had several good chances throughout the game but failed to convert them.
According to a report in Bild, Heynckes held talks with Lewandowski about his performance on Wednesday and the fans’ reaction. The German manager was reportedly unhappy with the striker’s attitude in training, too. However, Heynckes has categorically dismissed these rumors. While talking to media on Saturday (via Goal), Heynckes said that there is no rift between him and Lewandowski.
"“I can only tell you what I also said in the press conference yesterday – that I had a good talk with Robert Lewandowski.“But I did not say anything about the content of it. For me, Robert Lewandowski is a world-class player and please do not think that I will ignore him for Tuesday. So far he has managed to score 39 goals in all competitions. This is a mark of which most of the forwards in Europe are dreaming of.”"

Lewandowski has enjoyed yet another fine season for the Bavarians. However, he has been frequently linked with a move to Real Madrid. He has switched agents and hired Pini Zahavi recently which has only fueled the speculation. The Polish forward has always admired the Spanish giants and has never hidden that fact.
Bayern Munich have already, though, squashed the rumors of Lewandowski leaving. The Bavarians are not known for selling their star players to to European clubs. They are still regretting the mistake of allowing Toni Kroos to join Real Madrid in 2014, and will be keen to avoid a similar outcome this time.
Lewandowski has been a fantastic player for Bayern Munich for the past four seasons. The Pole is one of the best strikers in the world. However, at the age of 29, I will not be surprised if he looks for a new adventure after winning everything in Germany. But Bayern are in a strong position, as the forward’s current contract expires in 2021.

The Bavarians will heavily rely on their talisman, as they need to score a couple of goals without conceding at the Santiago Bernabeu. Lewandowski is known as a top professional and the Bavarians will be hoping that he continue to give his best as he has done in the past four years.
