Bayern Munich President Uli Hoeness says his club will only sell Robert Lewandowski if an offer over €200 million is made, says Sport Bild.

Robert Lewandowski and his potential move away from Bayern Munich has already become one of the hottest transfer sagas of the summer. Despite the Pole’s apparent desire to leave the club, Uli Hoeness and Co. are not eager to see him leave. According to a new report from Sport Bild, Lewandowski won’t be allowed to leave for anything less than €200 million.

The Bayern striker hired Pini Zahavi as his agent for the summer just a few months back. The Israeli’s contract terminates at the end of August. He is with Lewandowski to serve one purpose: get him out of Munich and to another top club.

Reports first emerged several months back that Robert was unhappy in Bavaria and eager to make a move to Real Madrid. It was also initially reported that los Blancos were interested, but that may no longer be the case.

More from Bayern Strikes

Other clubs, such as Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United and Chelsea have also joined the race for the Polish forward, but none of them have quite the same appeal as Spanish giants Real Madrid.

With Zinedine Zidane’s departure from the club’s managerial post, a move to Madrid might be back on the cards for Lewandowski. If the club’s new coach labels Lewandowski a prime transfer target, Zahavi will work non-stop to secure his client a move to the Spanish capital.

Unless an unlikely deal is struck sometime within the next week or so, this saga will likely drag itself out well into the World Cup. A good performance from the Pole on the world’s biggest stage, though, could convince many clubs to pay up for the striker. It could also have the opposite effect, though, and solidify Bayern’s stance that he is not for sale.

If Bayern Munich do decide to let go of Lewandowski, they’ll be in need of another striker to fill the void he leaves behind. A like-for-like replacement is not necessarily needed, but there will definitely be some slack for a new signing to pick up.

Timo Werner is the man most often labeled as Lewandowski’s future replacement. The 22-year-old is certainly one to keep an eye on this summer as he leads the line for Germany at the World Cup.
