Bayern Munich didn’t do significant transfer business last winter transfer window. They agreed a pre-contract agreement with Tom Bischof for a free transfer from Hoffenheim in the summer. Die Roten focused on contract extensions of Alphonso Davies, Joshua Kimmich, and Jamal Musiala during the winter window in 2025.
The upcoming winter transfer window at the start of 2026 is likely to be similar for Bayern. They have a small squad in place, but things will be better when Bayern resume after the winter break. The injured players- Alphonso Davies, Jamal Musiala, and Hiroki Ito are expected to be fit for second half of the season.
From a transfer point of view, four players will be free to talk with interested clubs regarding free transfers. Dayot Upamecano remains in talks with Die Roten for a new deal. Leon Goretzka and Serge Gnabry have no plans to leave Munich midway through the season. Both players are keen on extending their stay at Bayern.
Raphael Guerreiro is the fourth player who can talk with interested clubs in the winter. The Portuguese full-back has been linked with Juventus in the recent days. Considering his skillset, experience, and versatility, there will be more European clubs showing interest in him.
However, Sky Sports in Germany is reporting that Vincent Kompany has no plans to part ways with Guerreiro in the winter. The Belgian coach considers the Portuguese defender’s versatility key during a busy run of games in the second half of the season.
Bayern will make a final decision on Guerreiro’s future in the coming months. A new deal for the former Dortmund defender will depend on how Die Roten’s search for a younger full-back pans out. They had hoped to see Adam Aznou to compete with Alphonso Davies, but the Moroccan left the club in the summer to join Everton.
Guerreiro fit for the clash against Club Brugge
Guerreiro didn't get minutes against his former club on Saturday as he had missed a couple of training sessions. The Portuguese was fit enough to make it to the bench. With games coming thick and fast, Bayern will hope Guerreiro will remain fit for rest of the season.
With Bayern switching their focus to the Champions League on Wednesday, Kompany will look to make a few changes in the starting XI. Guerreiro should be a contender to start either in full-back or attacking midfield position since Serge Gnabry is a doubt for Wednesday's game.
