Bayern Munich have been very proactive in the summer transfer window. They have signed three players to the squad before the start of the pre-season training. Bayern want to sign more players this summer as they remain in talks to strengthen two positions in the squad.

After seeing their first bid rejected for Jonathan Tah, Bayern remain in talks with Bayer Leverkusen to find a solution. The German defender has already agreed personal terms with the Bavarian club. Despite having only one year contract left on Tah’s deal, Bayer Leverkusen are in no mood to sanction his departure for a cut-price deal.

Adding another attacking player is the other priority for Bayern. They have prioritized a move for Paris Saint-Germain’s Xavi Simons. The Dutch attacking midfielder could arrive on a loan deal with an obligation to buy next summer. Rennes winger Désiré Doué and RB Leipzig’s Dani Olmo are other options for Die Roten to strengthen the attack.

Before Bayern make steady progress on these two signings, they need to sell at least a couple of players in the squad. While talking to the media on Sunday (via AZ), Uli Hoeness admitted that Bayern will make further signings if they manage to sell a few players.

"No more players will come unless two or three players leave first. Max Eberl and Christoph Freund know full well that no one will come unless some prominent players leave. If theoretically no one leaves, we have three more players. No one else will come."

Bayern are reportedly ready to sell six senior players from the squad this summer. However, they are yet to receive concrete offers for them.

Matthijs de Ligt looked most likely to leave before he reports for the pre-season training due to strong interest from Manchester United. The move to Manchester has stalled for De Ligt since the Premier League club signed Leny Yoro from Lille to strengthen their defensive options. Manchester United remain interested in De Ligt, but a transfer may not happen as soon as possible since they have to raise funds from departures to sign another central defender.

Hoeness has hinted towards De Ligt’s departure as he prefers Bayern to keep Dayot Upamecano over the Dutch defender. Meanwhile, Joshua Kimmich and Leon Goretzka are candidates for sales in midfield. Kimmich is scheduled to have talks with the club hierarchy once he returns from vacation, while Goretzka is determined to stay in Munich.

Bayern also have plans to listen to offers for Serge Gnabry, Kingsley Coman, and Noussair Mazraoui. Coman is attracting interest from Paris Saint-Germain, while Gnabry doesn’t want to leave Die Roten this summer. Mazraoui has held talks with Bayern chiefs to get clarity about his future. The Moroccan defender will be allowed to leave if a club is ready to pay €30 million.

There is likely to be movement on departures once all senior players report for pre-season training later this month.
