After the end of the Euro and Copa America, there has been significant movement in the transfer market. Bayern Munich have completed three deals this summer. They are expected to be busy in terms of arrivals and departures during the next few weeks.

Matthijs de Ligt is expected to be one of the high-profile departures from Bayern this summer. Bayern want to sell the 24-year-old defender since he is one of the big earners in the squad.

The Dutch international had reportedly agreed personal terms with Manchester United. However, the latest developments at the Premier League club may jeopardize De Ligt’s move to Old Trafford.

According to several English and French media outlets on Wednesday, Manchester United are close to completing a deal for Lille’s highly rated center-back Leny Yoro. According to The Athletic, Manchester United are unlikely to sign De Ligt if they manage to complete a deal for Yoro.

Sky Sports in Germany have confirmed that the Red Devils remain in talks with Bayern, but there has been no official bid from them for De Ligt. With Yoro completing the medical at Manchester United, the Dutch defender may have to look for another club if Bayern are desperate to sell him this summer.

Paris Saint-Germain had inquired about De Ligt in January, but the Bavarian club didn’t want to sell the Dutch center-back midway through the season. The French club has not shown concrete interest in the Dutch international this summer.

De Ligt would like to stay at Bayern, provided he is given assurances over game time. The 24-year-old center-back doesn’t want to stay in Munich if he is the third or fourth-choice center-back in the squad. Bayern have already signed Hiroki Ito from Stuttgart to strengthen the defense.

Bayern are also eager to sign Jonathan Tah from Bayer Leverkusen. The German defender’s arrival is likely to go through if Die Roten finds a way to part ways with De Ligt. Die Roten will look to resolve the future of De Ligt sooner rather than later, giving all parties clarity before the start of the pre-season tour.
