Highly rated Bayern Munich midfielder Paul Wanner will be spending the next season out on loan at Bundesliga side 1. FC Heidenheim.

Following his impressive loan spell at SV Elversberg last season, Paul Wanner had attracted the interest of a number of Bundesliga clubs. VfB Stuttgart, Eintracht Frankfurt, and Werder Bremen were among the many teams interested in signing the 18 year old, but 1. FC Heidenheim have won the race to sign him on loan for next season.

An option to make the signing permanent will not be included in the loan deal, and Wanner will get the opportunity to play in the UEFA Conference League next season following Heidenheim’s eighth place finish in their debut Bundesliga season.

Wanner will hope to get regular playing time at Heidenheim, who have taken giant strides in recent seasons led by shrewd head coach Frank Schmidt.

The attacking midfielder is regarded as one of Bayern Munich’s most talented young players, and made his Bundesliga debut just a few days after his 16th birthday, becoming the youngest player to ever play for the club. He has made a total of eight first-team appearances for Bayern.

Wanner spent the recently concluded season out on loan at 2. Bundesliga side SV Elversberg, and managed seven goals and three assists in 31 appearances.

The move to Heidenheim could be an excellent next step in Paul Wanner’s development, and Bayern Munich will hope that he can make a big impact in the Bundesliga next season before returning to Bavaria and becoming a part of the first-team in 2025.
