Pep Guardiola will not be making a spectacular return to Bayern Munich, with his agency revealing that he is not looking to leave Manchester City at the moment.

Speculation linking Pep Guardiola with a move to Bayern Munich started to intensify on Monday, with Kicker revealing that he is the club's dream candidate for the head coach job. Despite the rumors, a stunning comeback was never on the cards. And this has now been confirmed by the Manchester City manager's camp.

“Pep has FC Bayern in his heart, but he doesn't want to leave Manchester City this summer. He is very happy and has a contract until 2025. A return to FC Bayern is not an option," Guardiola's consultancy group told Sky Sport.

Guardiola enjoyed three trophy-laden years at Bayern Munich before joining Manchester City in 2016. His contract with the Premier League giants runs until the end of next season.

Bayern Munich are still on the hunt for a new head coach with current trainer Thomas Tuchel set to leave the club at the end of the season.

The Bayern bosses have already been turned down by the likes of Xabi Alonso, Julian Nagelsmann and Ralf Rangnick. Erik ten Hag is now said to be emerging as one of the leading candidates for the Bayern job. But it remains to be seen whether the Dutchman would be keen to leave Manchester United in the summer.

Max Eberl and Christoph Freund certainly have their task cut out as they look to finalize their search for a new head coach.
