Erik ten Hag appears to be back on Bayern Munich's list of targets as they look for a new head coach to replace Thomas Tuchel.
Bayern Munich's search for a new head coach has certainly not gone according to plan so far, as the club has been rocked by rejections from the likes of Xabi Alonso, Julian Nagelsmann and Ralf Rangnick. Now, it appears that the Bavarians have a new name on their list of candidates.
According to Sky Sport, Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is now on Bayern Munich's list of targets. The report adds that Bayern have held talks with ten Hag's entourage, but no direct contact has yet been made with the 54 year old.
The Dutch trainer's contract with Manchester United runs until 2025, but his future there is currently uncertain after an underwhelming season.
Manchester United appointed ten Hag on the back of his impressive style of play and run of results at Ajax. And while he guided them to a third place finish in the Premier League last season, they face a battle to qualify for European football this year.
Erik ten Hag is by no means a stranger to Bayern Munich, having taken charge of the club's second team from 2013 to 2015. He then joined Dutch side Utrecht, before moving to Ajax two years later.
Bayern Munich have a number of names on their list of targets at the moment. Although it still remains to be seen just who will replace Thomas Tuchel when he leaves the club at the end of the season.
