Newly announced Bayern Munich signing Michael Olise was in blistering form on Thursday evening as he continued his preparations for the upcoming Olympic Games with the France U-23s.
The Olympic Games are almost upon us, and two Bayern Munich players will be in action at the sporting extravaganza in Paris. Michael Olise has been called up to the France squad as they look to win the Gold Medal on home soil. And he prepared for the event by scoring a five-minute brace on Thursday.
The France U-23s went up against the Dominican Republic in a friendly match on Thursday evening, with Michael Olise in the starting XI. The Bayern Munich summer signing scored France's fourth goal with a simple tap-in in the 51st minute. He then added another goal just five minutes later with an excellent volley from outside the box.
Olise's brace helped France secure a comprehensive 7-0 win. France will begin their Summer Olympics campaign on July 24 when they take on the United States. New Zealand and Guinea are the other two teams in their group.
Michael Olise recently signed for Bayern Munich for €60 million
Bayern Munich splashed big money to sign Michael Olise from Crystal Palace earlier this month. The Bavarians beat out competition from several big clubs in the English Premier League to sign the 22 year old, who is regarded as one of the world's most talented young forwards.
Olise will have his sights set on winning the Gold Medal with France at the Olympic Games, before heading to Germany and spearheading Bayern Munich's charge for the Bundesliga title.
