Bayern Munich are expected to complete a deal to sign Michael Olise from Crystal Palace, beating out competition from the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United for the forward.
Michael Olise has spurned interest from a number of big clubs in the English Premier League in favor of a move to Bayern Munich. This is being reported by David Ornstein of the Athletic, who adds that Bayern are now expected to agree a deal with Crystal Palace.
Bayern Munich are among the many clubs in the race to sign Olise this summer, with the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United, and Newcastle United also in the hunt. The winger came close to joining Chelsea last summer, but decided to stay at Crystal Palace. Now he is on the verge of joining Bayern.
There is said to be a release clause of around 70 million euros in Olise’s current contract with Crystal Palace, although it remains to be seen whether Bayern will pay that fee.
Bolstering the attack was one of Bayern’s main aims for the summer transfer window. And in Olise, they are on the verge of signing one of the most exciting young wingers in Europe. The 22 year old has been one of the standout performers in the English Premier League since joining Crystal Palace in 2021.
Olise scored ten goals and assisted a further six in just 19 appearances for Crystal Palace this season, with injuries preventing him from featuring more.
It is currently unclear what Bayern’s impending signing of Michael Olise means for their pursuit of Xavi Simons. It has been claimed in recent weeks that the Dutch attacking midfielder is Bayern’s top target.
