Max Eberl has no doubt that Bayern Munich can afford to spend 100 million euros on players of the calibre of Florian Wirtz.

Bayern Munich's interest in signing Florian Wirtz is no secret. The attacking midfielder is set to stay with Bayer Leverkusen beyond the end of the season, but could leave the newly crowned Bundesliga champions in 2025.

The likes of Manchester City, Liverpool and Real Madrid are expected to compete with Bayern Munich for the signature of Wirtz when he does decide to leave Bayer Leverkusen.

And Max Eberl is confident that Bayern Munich have the resources to spend around 100 million euros on one player under the right circumstances. During his appearance on BILD-TV on Sunday, the Bayern board member for sport said, "FC Bayern signed an absolute top star in Harry Kane last summer and showed that the club is capable of spending such sums, but not every year."

"If a player of this calibre, like Florian Wirtz or Harry Kane, is available and on the market, then we have to consider it. But it is also possible that the player could turn us down."

Florian Wirtz is enjoying an excellent season with Bayer Leverkusen, and has played a key role in their success. Having already clinched the Bundesliga title, the 21 year old will hope to lead Xabi Alonso's side to a historic treble this season. A big summer also awaits for Wirtz, who is set to play a key role for Germany in their bid to win the European Championship on home soil.

Strong performances at the Euros would only lead to more clubs joining the race for Wirtz, and the bidding war could well cross the 100 million euros mark.
