Leroy Sane has been one of the best wide players in Europe this season. The German winger has consistently chipped in with goals and assists for Bayern Munich. He is thriving under Tuchel’s system after forming a lethal partnership with Harry Kane in the final third.

Bayern had missed out on Sane in 2016 when he left Schalke. He went on to join Manchester City. The Bavarian club eventually managed to get him in 2020 when he wanted to leave Manchester. Die Roten are known for signing top German talent. They would like to avoid another Sane scenario and get the best German players at the club as soon as possible.

Florian Wirtz is one of the promising German players of his generation. The young attacking midfielder has bounced back brilliantly from a serious knee injury to help Bayer Leverkusen mount a title challenge this season. Wirtz has been heavily linked with a move to Bayern for several seasons, but a transfer was never close to completion. However, the latest update from Germany suggests that a move to Bavaria for Wirtz may happen in the near future.

According to Sky Sports in Germany, Florian Wirtz is open to joining Bayern. The 20-year-old is also high on the transfer list for Die Roten. However, Bayer Leverkusen is hoping to keep Wirtz until 2025. They are not under pressure to sell the youngster since his current deal expires in 2025.

Along with Bayern, Real Madrid and Manchester United are also interested in Wirtz. The young attacking midfielder is currently favouring a move to Munich over a transfer abroad. He may eventually like to play in another league later in his career.

Since Wirtz has several years left on his contract, Leverkusen will demand close to €120 million if any interested club wants to sign him in the summer. The Bavarian club is capable of spending big on one player, as they did last summer to get Harry Kane from Tottenham Hotspur. However, they would like to avoid a bidding war with other richer clubs for Wirtz.

The 20-year-old currently has six goals and nine assists to his name this season for Bayer Leverkusen across all competitions. He has shown great maturity in the final third to deliver quality performances for Leverkusen. It wouldn’t be a surprise if several other big clubs join the race for his signature by the end of the season. Bayern will be banking on the player’s will to get him to Munich by the summer of 2025 if not in 2024.
