Kim Min-jae not thinking about Bayern exit despite unsatisfactory debut season
Kim Min-jae has admitted his disappointment over his performances in his debut season with Bayern Munich, but is not thinking about a move away from the club.
Signed from Napoli on the back of his exemplary performances in the Italian Serie A, Kim Min-jae struggled to make a similar impact at Bayern Munich in his first season with the club. The South Korean international lost his spot in the regular starting XI in the second half of the season, and also made a number of costly errors, including in the first leg of the Champions League semifinal against Real Madrid.
After a difficult first season in Munich, Min-jae is now keen to reflect on his struggles and is determined to learn from them ahead of next season. "Personally, it wasn't a satisfactory season and I have to improve next season," the 27 year old said in an interview with t-online.
"When a season is over, you always spend time reflecting on things as a player. What did I do right, what was missing and what improvements are needed. When I make mistakes and show weaknesses, it's even more important to learn from them. I will be much stronger next season."
According to t-online, the center-back is not considering a move away from Bayern Munich despite recent speculation linking him with a return to Napoli.
Kim Min-jae, who made a total of 36 appearances for Bayern Munich in the recently concluded campaign, showed glimpses of his quality in the first half of the season, but struggled to make a similar impact following the turn of the year. He will now hope to turn things around under the new Bayern head coach next season.
