Bayern Munich have suffered a blow in their hopes of further bolstering their attack, with Désiré Doué deciding in favor of a move to Paris Saint-Germain.
Désiré Doué has decided to join PSG, with Fabrizio Romano claiming that only the final details need to be resolved before the transfer can be made official. The report comes as a huge blow for Bayern Munich, who were interested in signing the 19 year old winger.
Désiré Doué had agreement on personal terms with Bayern before deciding to join PSG
The Bayern bosses viewed Doué as an exciting signing for the future and made two bids to sign him. And reports had claimed that they even had an agreement on personal terms with the Stade Rennais star.
But it appears that PSG will win the race to sign Doué, leaving Bayern Munich with work to do if they are to further bolster their attack before the transfer window closes. The Bavarians were also rejected by Xavi Simons, who decided to return to RB Leipzig on loan for another season. Although Max Eberl and co. did sign Michael Olise from Crystal Palace earlier this summer.
It remains to be seen if Bayern will still consider signing another attacking player from the funds raised by the sales of Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui to Manchester United. Vincent Kompany has also signalled his interest in signing Jonthan Tah from Bayer Leverkusen. Although it has been reported in recent days that a move for the Bayer Leverkusen center-back is no longer in the cards.
With just over two weeks left before the summer transfer window closes, those in charge at Bayern Munich certainly have work to do to ensure that the roster is ready to compete for the Bundesliga title this season.
