The upcoming summer transfer window will be intriguing for Bayern Munich. The Bavarian club will have a new coach since Thomas Tuchel will leave at the end of the season. Max Eberl and Christoph Freund will work in tandem to replenish the squad that has struggled in the Bundesliga this season.

Bayern chiefs believe that a squad upheaval is necessary in the summer. Along with strengthening the squad with new players, Die Roten are expected to make some tough decisions. Joshua Kimmich may end up becoming the shock departure from Bayern in the summer.

According to Sky Sports in Germany, Kimmich has emerged as a candidate for sale at Bayern. The record Bundesliga champions are open to listening to big offers for Kimmich. The Bavarian club is yet to open talks with Kimmich over a new contract.

Die Roten consider Kimmich’s departure a realistic option due to the emergence of Aleksandar Pavlovic. From a financial perspective, Kimmich already earns €20 million per year. Bayern are not keen on increasing his salary, which may affect their wage bill. Moreover, Rekordmeister are already looking for a number six to strengthen the midfield in the summer.

As per Sky Sports, Kimmich is also open to leaving Bayern in the summer under the right circumstances. The German midfielder will consider only five options- Real Madrid, Barcelona, Liverpool, Arsenal, and Manchester City if he decides to leave Munich. Some of these clubs have already held talks with the German midfielder.

Paris Saint-Germain had made a move for Kimmich in the winter, but Die Roten had no plans to part ways with him midway through the season. The French club is expected to come back for him in the summer.

Kimmich has just over 15 months left on his contract at Bayern. The upcoming summer transfer window will be the last opportunity for Die Roten to get a significant fee for him. They should ideally look to get at least €80 million for Kimmich. Bayern will hope to see a bidding war for Kimmich due to interest from several big clubs.

From the Bavarian faithful’s point of view, it will be a massive shame if Kimmich leaves Munich in the summer. He has been a monumental player for the club since arriving from RB Leipzig in 2015. Kimmich was tipped to become Bayern’s skipper one day, but it does look like the player and club are looking to start afresh next season.
