Bayern Munich traveled to newly promoted Holsten Kiel for matchday three of the 24/25 Bundesliga season on Saturday evening. The Bavarians enjoyed a goal-glut with Harry Kane leading the way with a hat-trick, and Michael Olise opening his goalscoring account in the Bundesliga.

Vincent Kompany chose the following line-up for the task at hand; Neuer - Boey, Upamecano, Kim, Guerreiro - Kimmich, Palhinha - Gnabry, Musiala, Coman - Kane.

It was the absolute dream start for Bayern, who opened the scoring after just 14 seconds. There were a few loose balls contested in the middle of the park from kick-off, as Kane found Jamal Musiala with a headed through ball, and the 21-year old kept his composure to make no mistake - doing his talking on the pitch after some mid-week criticism.

Just seven minutes in, Kiel were caught playing out from the back, as Bayern robbed Lewis Holtby of possession inside his own box, and Gnabry had the composure to find Kane, who dragged a finish inside the near post.

After 13 minutes, it was three. Musiala, as he so often does, showed incredible footwork inside the box, and his cut-back was diverted into his own net by Nicolai Remberg.

The game settled down a bit after that but Bayern still had chances. Gnabry hit the post when well positioned from a Kimmich corner, and then Kane missed a cut-back after superb work from Gnabry himself, in a chance you would back him to convert nine times out of ten.

Two minutes before the break, it was four. One ball over the top found Coman in behind, who drove inside the pitch before laying the ball off to Kane, who fired in off the post for his second of the game.

At half-time, Kompany introduced Müller for Musiala and Olise for Gnabry in a double change - perhaps with one eye on the Champions League opener against Dinamo Zagreb on Tuesday.

After 64 minutes, Laimer and Davies replaced Boey and Guerreiro in a double substitution. Just one minute later, Davies' right footed effort was parried away by Timon Weiner into the path of Olise, who slotted home for his first goal in Bayern Munich colours. 10 minutes later, Tel replaced Coman in Bayern's fifth and final sub of the game.

Eight minutes from time, Armin Gigovic headed home from a cross which will no doubt be frustrating for the Bayern defensive unit and for Kompany.

Then, in injury time, Kane was fouled inside the box for a penalty - and the Bayern number nine picked himself up to convert the penalty and make it a hat-trick to complete the perfect week for him after his milestone with the England national team.

That was that, and Bayern recorded a thumping 6-1 victory to make it three wins from three in the Bundesliga to start the season and Kompany's reign in charge. Die Roten end gameweek three top of the league, two points clear of second and the only side with a perfect Bundesliga record.
