Posting to X (formerly Twitter), Italian football journalist Fabrizio Romano said that Roberto De Zerbi has a release clause in his Brighton contract, which could be activated in the summer for around £12m/£13m. Internal talks are still thought to be ongoing at Bayern Munich.
As mentioned earlier, this is a huge decision for Bayern Munich to make. Therefore, fans should not expect the club to rush into any decision. They have afforded themselves plenty of time, which they appear to be using well.
This season is one to forget but hope is not lost for next season. Bayern Munich have an excellent young squad, some players of which can be considered world-class. Therefore, under the right management, they could certainly excel to new heights.
In De Zerbi, it is important to address that Bayern Munich won't be getting a proven winner. However, he is one of the best tacticians in the world and he is known to get the most out of players. Therefore, giving him access to world-class talents at the Allianz Arena is a frightening thought.
