Bayern Munich are seemingly wary that Joshua Kimmich could leave the club and join FC Barcelona on a free transfer when his current contract expires in 2025.

The future of Joshua Kimmich remains uncertain, with reports claiming that the versatile midfielder is free to leave Bayern Munich for the right fee this summer. There are only 12 months left on Kimmich's current contract with Bayern, and an extension is not yet in sight with talks only expected to take place after the European Championship.

According to SportBILD, Hansi Flick has set his sights on a reunion with Kimmich. While FC Barcelona cannot afford to sign the 29 year old this summer, Bayern are seemingly vary that Kimmich will let his contract expire and leave on a free transfer in 2025. That would certainly not be ideal for the Bavarians, considering Kimmich's actual market value and ability as a game-changer.

Barcelona are not the only team interested in signing Kimmich, with Manchester City, Arsenal and Real Madrid also keeping tabs on the Germany international, who is also capable of playing at right-back.

The magazine adds that Kimmich feels very comfortable in Munich, having already been at the club for nearly a decade. Whether that will be enough for the Bayern bosses to extend his contract, remains to be seen.

For now, Joshua Kimmich is fully focused on the European Championship with Germany. After that, his future at club level will come into focus. Bayern will certainly hope for a quick resolution to this matter. However, the chances of that happening appear to be slim at the moment.
