Blow for Bayern as Manchester United close in on Leny Yoro signing
By Tushar Bahl
Manchester United are on the verge of completing the signing of Leny Yoro from LOSC Lille, which could well be a big blow to Bayern Munich's hopes of selling Matthijs de Ligt this summer.
It is no secret that Bayern Munich are looking to sell Matthijs de Ligt and the Dutch center-back is keen to make the switch to Manchester United. The Bavarians have set an asking price of 50 million euros plus bonuses for the sale of de Ligt, but their hopes of selling the defender to Manchester United have now taken a blow.
This is because Manchester United are on the verge of completing the signing of Leny Yoro from LOSC Lille, with the 18 year old set to join for a fee of around 62 million euros. Real Madrid were also interested in the defender, but Erik ten Hag's side are now set to win the race for his signature.
Bayern Munich want 50 million euros for Matthijs de Ligt
Whether Manchester United will look to continue their bid to sign de Ligt remains to be seen. But Sky Sport are claiming that the English Premier League giants are currently not willing to meet Bayern's asking price.
Bayern Munich have already bolstered their defense with the signing of Hiroki Ito from VfB Stuttgart, and are also looking to bring in Jonathan Tah. But in order to sign the Bayer Leverkusen defender, the Bayern bosses must first sell de Ligt.
Matthijs de Ligt was a regular starter for Bayern Munich last season but has seemingly fallen out of favor now, and is free to leave the club.
