Bayern Munich had a terrific week as they booked a place in the semi-final of the Champions League by beating Arsenal on Wednesday. The Bavarian club will switch their attention to the Bundesliga for a couple of weeks before the big semi-final clash against Real Madrid.

The title race in the Bundesliga was sealed last week as Bayer Leverkusen won their maiden title by beating Werder Bremen. While there is no incentive to win the Bundesliga title, the remaining five games are crucial for Bayern to cement the second spot in the table. The Bavarian club also needs to maintain momentum in their performances to excel in the Champions League.

Team News

Bayern currently have several injury problems in the squad. Kingsley Coman will miss the rest of the season after suffering a hamstring injury against FC Koln. The French forward is hopeful about being fit for the Euros in the summer. Serge Gnabry will also miss the game against Union Berlin due to injury. The German forward is facing a race against time to be fit for the first game against Real Madrid at the end of April.

Leroy Sane has been playing through pain in the last couple of weeks. Bayern are going to manage his injury in the next few weeks. He will not travel with the squad on Saturday. Sacha Boey remains on the sidelines due to a hamstring injury.

Predicted Starting XI

Thomas Tuchel will certainly make several changes to the starting XI that featured against Arsenal. Manuel Neuer will continue in the goal since there is no midweek game to look forward to. The German international was at his best against Arsenal. He will look to continue this run of form until the end of the season.

Dayot Upamecano and Kim Min-jae are likely to come back in the starting XI, giving rest to Matthijs de Ligt and Eric Dier after an intense game against Arsenal. Alphonso Davies will slot in the left-back position, while Joshua Kimmich will play on the right side of the back four.

Aleksandar Pavlovic will certainly start against Union Berlin. Tuchel and Bayern will be keen to get the youngster in full rhythm before games against Real Madrid. Pavlovic will partner Leon Goretzka in the center of the park. Thomas Muller will slot in the number ten position against Union Berlin.

Jamal Musiala may have to play on the right flank since several senior wingers are injured. Mathys Tel will be deployed in the wide position on the left of the attack, while Harry Kane will lead the attack on Saturday.

Predicted XI- Neuer; Kimmich-Upamecano-KMJ-Davies; Pavlovic-Goretzka; Musiala-Muller-Tel; Kane

Score Prediction

Union Berlin 1-3 Bayern Munich

After the good performance against Arsenal, I expect Bayern to continue their good run of form on Saturday. Since Die Roten have struggled to keep clean sheets in the Bundesliga, I am backing Union Berlin to score at least one goal.
