Bayern Munich star Serge Gnabry could well be forced to miss this summer's European Championship after picking up a hamstring injury during Wednesday's Champions League semifinal against Real Madrid.
Serge Gnabry will be forced to miss Bayern Munich's remaining two games in the Bundesliga, and also faces a race against time to be fit for this summer's European Championship on home soil. Bayern have announced that the winger has a torn muscle in his left hamstring.
According to BILD, Gnabry is expected to be sidelined for a period of around six weeks. With Euro 2024 kicking off on June 14, the 28 year old may well have to miss out on selection to the Germany squad.
Gnabry picked up his injury during the first-half of Bayern Munich's Champions League semifinal against Real Madrid on Wednesday, and was forced to come off as a result.
Missing the Euros would be another bitter blow for Gnabry, who has been forced to spend considerable time on the sidelines this season due to a string of injury problems. He has been limited to just 20 appearances across all competitions, and has five goals and two assists to his name.
Serge Gnabry's absence has certainly been felt in the Bayern Munich attack this season, and now the Germany national team may also have to make do without him for this summer's European Championship.
Head coach Julian Nagelsmann is expected to announce the Germany squad for Euro 2024 next week. Germany will go up against Scotland, Hungary and Switzerland during the group stage.
