Bayern Munich are set to tie down talented duo Aleksandar Pavlović and Josip Stanišić to long-term contracts, with extensions until 2029 set to be announced soon.
Aleksandar Pavlović and Josip Stanišić both enjoyed breakout seasons in the Bundesliga, and now look set to be a part of Bayern Munich’s plans for the coming years. According to Kicker, the Bayern bosses are in positive talks to extend their contracts, and both players are set to put pen to paper on long-term deals.
Pavlović broke into the Bayern Munich first-team in the recently concluded season, showcasing his excellent potential as a midfielder. The 20 year old’s performances also helped him earn a spot in the Germany squad for Euro 2024, only for tonsillitis to prevent him from featuring. The rising midfield star made a total of 22 appearances this season, and managed two goals and two assists.
Stanišić spent this season on loan at Bayer Leverkusen, helping them end Bayern Munich’s dominance at the top of the Bundesliga standings. The 24 year old established himself as a regular starter for Xabi Alonso’s side, and also scored in Leverkusen’s stunning 3-0 win over Bayern in February.
Bayer Leverkusen signalled their interest in turning Stanišić’s loan move into a permanent transfer. But it looks like his future lies at Bayern Munich. Capable of playing at both center-back and right-back, Stanišić will hope for regular minutes at Bayern next season.
Both Aleksandar Pavlović and Josip Stanišić are set to play a key role under Vincent Kompany next season as Bayern Munich look to reclaim the Bundesliga crown.
