The right-back position was a headache for Thomas Tuchel at Bayern Munich last season. The Bavarian club didn’t replace Benjamin Pavard during last summer’s transfer window. With Noussair Mazraoui as the only option in the right-back position during Hinrunde, Tuchel was forced to use Konrad Laimer as an alternative in several games.

Die Roten strengthened the right-back position in January by signing Sacha Boey from Galatasaray. The French full-back became Bayern’s most expensive winter signing. Josip Stanisic will also be an option in the right-back position next season after a productive loan spell at Bayer Leverkusen.

With two solid young options in the right-back position, Mazraoui is surplus to Bayern’s needs for next season. The Bavarian club is open to listening to offers for the Moroccan international during the ongoing transfer window.

According to Sky Sports in Germany, Bayern want €30 million for Noussair Mazraoui. The former Ajax full-back has been subject to several inquiries but Die Roten are yet to receive concrete bids for him. Mazraoui has been in dialogue with Bayern chiefs to get clarity about his future at the club.

The 26-year-old defender joined Bayern in 2022 on a free transfer. In the last two seasons, Mazraoui has failed to establish himself as first-choice right-back at the club for different reasons. He often didn’t get a consistent run in the starting XI due to injuries or the form of the other competing right-back.

Bayern would make a significant profit on Mazraoui if they managed to get their desired price for the right-back. Mazraoui will also benefit from moving away from Munich this summer to kickstart his career after two indifferent seasons in Munich. However, a transfer away from Bayern is yet to become concrete for him. Unless there are significant talks with interested clubs over the next week, Mazraoui is expected to go on the pre-season tour with Bayern. A move away from Bavaria may materialize for the Moroccan late in the transfer window.

Bayern are not expected to sign a full-back this summer. They are well-sorted in the right-back position with two players. Meanwhile, Alphonso Davies and Raphael Guerreiro will compete for the left-back spot in the starting XI. Davies has entered the final year of his contract. Real Madrid have shown interest in the Canadian full-back, but they are yet to talk to Bayern regarding a transfer. Bayern are not giving up on extending his contract later this year, but he is expected to stay in Munich beyond the summer transfer window.
