Bayern Munich have been spot-on in identifying loan destinations for several players in the last couple of years. Bryan Zaragoza is also benefitting from the loan system at Bayern as he is thriving at Osasuna.
The Spanish winger has been in fine form since joining Osasuna on a season-long loan in the summer. Zaragoza has made nine appearances for the Spanish club in La Liga this season. The 23-year-old winger has chipped in with one goal and three assists for Osasuna in 569 minutes of game time. His overall performances have been impressive, helping Osasuna to be in the top five of the La Liga. (Stats courtesy: Whoscored)
Zaragoza was specifically impressive against FC Barcelona a few days ago. He scored once and set up another goal to help Osasuna to beat the Catalan club. Bayern are pleased with the way Zaragoza is performing this campaign, but his long-term future may still be away from Munich.
According to Spanish journalist Matteo Moretto (via iMiaSanMia), Bryan Zaragoza is unlikely to return to Bayern next summer. The record Bundesliga champions will look for a permanent transfer. Osasuna will not be able to afford a permanent move for the Spanish winger.
Zaragoza will have more attractive options if he succeeds at Osasuna
The 23-year-old winger never settled in Munich since arriving from Granada in January. Bayern had initially planned to sign Zaragoza in the summer, but a serious injury to Kingsley Coman forced their hand to bring forward the signing.
After arriving in Munich, Zaragoza struggled to get game time under Thomas Tuchel. The German coach insisted that Zaragoza would need more time to settle in a new league and city before showing his best. Bayern decided to loan him out in the summer after signing Michael Olise from Crystal Palace.
Bayern are currently well covered in the wide positions. Matthys Tel will become a prominent figure in the coming seasons, while Bayern have a strong interest in signing Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen next summer. Serge Gnabry and Kingsley Coman could leave next summer, but Zaragoza may still find it difficult to play regularly in Munich.
The Spaniard has seamlessly adapted to life in Osasuna since he already has experience of playing in La Liga. He should be ideally targeting at least 10 goals and assists in La Liga this season. A productive campaign with La Liga will give him more attractive opportunities offers next summer. Meanwhile, Bayern would like this loan spell to be successful to recoup the fee they paid for him nine months ago.
