Bayern Munich receive positive update on Harry Kane’s injury
The ongoing international break has not been kind to Bayern Munich when it comes to injuries. Sacha Boey suffered a hamstring injury this week during training at Sabner Strasse. The French full-back will reportedly be out of action for six weeks. Manuel Neuer also suffered an injury this week during training with the German national team.
After a couple of negative injury updates, Bayern have received a positive update on Harry Kane. The English striker suffered an ankle injury during the game against Darmstadt last weekend. Despite the injury, Kane was allowed to join the English squad for the friendly games against Brazil and Belgium.
According to the Telegraph (via iMiaSanMia), Kane will miss the game against Brazil on Saturday. However, the English forward has a chance of featuring against Belgium next week since his ankle injury is not serious.
Bayern remain in contact with the English team to monitor Kane’s recovery. The Bavarian club would ideally prefer Kane to sit out of both games to recover completely from the ankle injury. Ahead of crucial games during April and May, Bayern need Kane fit and firing all cylinders.
Kane has been one of the most prolific strikers in Europe this season. The English striker has scored 31 goals for Die Roten in the Bundesliga. He has found the back of the net six times in the Champions League. Along with goals, Kane has also chipped in with ten assists across all competitions.
The 30-year-old striker has been a key player for Bayern ever since arriving from Tottenham Hotspur in August. Thomas Tuchel and the Bavarian faithful will be praying that Kane recovers quickly from the ankle injury and plays in next weekend’s Der Klassiker.
Meanwhile, Tuchel is set to receive a massive boost in the attacking department after the international break with the return of Kingsley Coman. The French winger is training on the pitch at Sabner Strasse during the international break. Coman has been on the sidelines since suffering a knee injury at the end of January.
The likes of Raphael Guerreiro and Noussair Mazraoui are also expected to be fit for the game against Dortmund on March 30. Tuchel needs the entire squad for the final phase of the season as they look to go deep in the Champions League. Bayern will face Arsenal in the Champions League quarter-finals after the international break. The chances of retaining the Bundesliga title are slim, but Bayern need to win league games to build momentum for a strong end to the season.
