The international break has started on the worst possible note for Bayern Munich. After Aleksandar Pavlovic pulled out of the German squad due to illness, the Bavarian club suffered two more injury blows in the first few days of the break.

Sacha Boey was the first injury casualty confirmed by Bayern earlier today. The French right-back has suffered a hamstring injury that will keep him out for the next few games. Die Roten have not given a time frame for Boey’s recovery. Bild is reporting that Boey could be out for six weeks.

It has been a frustrating first couple of months for Boey in Munich since arriving from Galatasaray at the end of January. The French right-back had just returned to the squad after recovering from an injury that kept him out for four weeks. His adaptation period in Munich has been largely spent on the sidelines.

Thomas Tuchel has two more options in the right-back options. Joshua Kimmich has done a good job in this position over the last few games. Meanwhile, Noussair Mazraoui is expected to be back in action after the international break. The Moroccan right-back has been on the sidelines since mid-February due to an injury.

Manuel Neuer withdraws from German squad due to injury

Manuel Neuer has withdrawn from the German squad after suffering a muscle injury in training on Wednesday. Bayern have confirmed that Neuer suffered a muscle strain in his left adductor during training. He will undergo further tests in Munich to determine the extent of the injury.

While talking to the media on Wednesday, Julian Nagelsmann suggested that Neuer may miss the game against Borussia Dortmund on March 30. Die Roten are expected to provide more updates on Neuer’s injury later this week.

This injury is a big blow for Neuer since he was expected to start for Germany against France and Netherlands. Neuer hadn’t played for Germany since the World Cup 2022 due to a serious leg injury. He returned to action for Die Roten in October and seamlessly got back to his best. On the back of his good form for Bayern, Nagelsmann decided to stick with Neuer as Germany’s number one for the Euros in the summer. DFB and Nagelsmann will hope that Neuer recovers quickly from this injury and gets an ample amount of game time before the European championship.

Thomas Tuchel and Bayern will hope there are no further injury setbacks during the remainder of the international break. With crucial Champions League games against Arsenal after the international break, Rekordmeister need the complete squad fit to have a successful end to the campaign.
