Alexander Nübel
After two solid seasons with AS Monaco, Alexander Nübel made the move to VfB Stuttgart on a loan deal last summer. The former Schalke 04 man had a spell to remember as he helped the overachieving Swabians finish second in the Bundesliga.
Nübel kept a total of 11 clean sheets in the Bundesliga for Stuttgart, and his performances helped him earn a contract extension at Bayern Munich and a call-up to the Germany squad. He was an imposing presence between the sticks all season long, and led the defense in great fashion.
An excellent shot-stopper and composed on the ball, Nübel showed this season that he has the attributes to succeed at Bayern Munich. But before he can replace Manuel Neuer in goal at the Allianz Arena, the 27 year old will spend two more seasons at Stuttgart.
Arijon Ibrahimovic
The highly rated winger made the switch to Italy last summer, joining Serie A side Frosinone on a season-long loan deal. Ibrahimovic enjoyed a fairly successful loan spell, and impressed in the first half of the season before injuries started to take their toll. In total, the 18 year old scored two goals and assisted one in 18 appearances across all competitions.
It will be interesting to see what the future holds for Ibrahimovic, who will hope to get the opportunity to impress at Bayern during pre-season. If he is able to make his mark for Vincent Kompany’s side, a spot in the first-team could be on offer.
