By the looks of it, Alphonso Davies is off to Real Madrid, since he agreed personal terms to join the Spanish club. With his contract expiring in 2025, it is understandable that Bayern Munich would prefer to let him go in the summer, rather than waiting an extra year to let him leave for free.

But fear not Bayern Munich fans, for the club is not wasting any time when it comes to deciding on his replacement. According to a report from Daily Mail, Bayern Munich have identified Liverpool full-back Andrew Robertson as their top choice to replace Alphonso Davies.

Robertson is 29 years old and despite being a Scotland international, has had a lot of success in England. He moved to the North of England in 2014 and 10 years later, has not looked back. So far, he has won the Premier League, Champions League and FA Cup. Only at the weekend, he lifted the EFL Cup with Liverpool for the second time.

Known for his incredible work-rate, he is one of the best full-backs in Europe. Since he is playing at the peak of his powers, now would be the right time for Bayern Munich to sign him. After all, he still has a lot to give and he could fill the hole left by Alphonso Davies.

Davies is known for being one of the fastest players in the world but fear not, Robertson could fill this void. He is no stranger to making gut-busting runs but unlike Davies, these are defensive runs more often than not. Still, Bayern could do with this additional defensive coverage, having conceded 10 goals in their last 5 Bundesliga games.

It remains to be seen how this story develops between now and the end of the season but certainly, Bayern Munich fans have plenty of reasons to smile if Robertson joins next season.
