The last few days of the summer transfer window were not frantic for Bayern Munich in terms of incomings and outgoings. Bayern wanted to sign Jonathan Tah from Bayer Leverkusen, but the defending Bundesliga champions ruled out a late transfer for the German international.

In terms of outgoings, Bayern wanted to part ways with Kingsley Coman. The French winger had multiple offers at the end of the window, but he decided to stay in Munich. Die Roten were ready to sanction his transfer without getting a replacement since they were well covered in the attack.

According to SportBild’s Christian Falk (via iMiaSanMia), Bayern will be open to selling Coman when the transfer window opens in January. Die Roten hope to see more concrete interest from the Premier League in the French winger during the winter transfer window.

Coman wants to leave Bayern only if he gets a chance to compete for honours with another big European club. He has no intention to leave Europe after rejecting a lucrative offer from Saudi Arabia in the summer. Coman also reportedly rejected interest from Turkey as he wants to play in Europe’s top five leagues.

Game time will decide extent of Coman’s desire to leave Bayern in January

Bayern were eager to get rid of Coman’s salary from the wage bill. The French winger is one of the big earners in the squad. Die Roten were open to sanctioning a loan with an option or obligation to buy deal since it allowed them to get rid of Coman’s wages for at least one season.

Despite the desperation of Die Roten to sell Coman in the summer, they have no plans to sideline the winger from the squad. He has been part of matchday squads in the first three competitive games of the season. Vincent Kompany has brought Coman off the bench in the second half across the three games.

The Belgian coach will continue to use Coman on the pitch as long as he stays at the club. However, the French forward is currently an option from the bench instead of warranting a place in the starting XI. With Leroy Sane returning to action this weekend, Coman’s game time may severely decrease in the next four months.

Coman will certainly push for a transfer if he is not satisfied with playing time under Vincent Kompany. The French forward has been a great player for Bayern, scoring big goals, including the famous Champions League winner against PSG in Lisbon. However, his time in Bavaria may come to an end sooner rather than later since Bayern are so eager to part ways with him.
