Bayern Munich want to further strengthen their attacking options despite signing Michael Olise from Crystal Palace. The Bavarian club wants to add one more attacking player to the squad. Bayern have been actively working on deals for Xavi Simons and Désiré Doué, but they have also looked at other young attacking players across Europe.

According to Gazzetta Dello Sport in Italy, Bayern are one of the several big clubs to enquire about Juventus forward Federico Chiesa. The Italian forward is not part of the plans at Juventus. He is expected to leave Turin this summer. Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur have held talks with Chiesa’s agent, while Manchester United and Bayern have also enquired about him.

Chiesa was one of the most exciting forwards in Italy a few years ago during his time at Fiorentina. The stellar performances at Fiorentina earned him a move to Juventus. However, injuries have troubled him since moving to Turin. His performances have also dipped, making him an inconsistent winger.

The Italian winger is not part of Thiago Motta’s plans at Juventus. The Turin-based club is ready to sell him this summer since he has only one year left on his contract. Chiesa scored nine goals in 33 Serie A games last season.

Signing Chiesa a few years ago would have been a quality transfer for Bayern. However, they can certainly do much better than him this season. He has not progressed at Juventus as expected. A move away to Turin may benefit all parties, but Bayern are unlikely to make a move for him.

Bayern suffer setback in the pursuit of Xavi Simons

PSG’s Xavi Simons was a top transfer target for Bayern at the start of the summer. Max Eberl was eager to reunite with Simons after he helped RB Leipzig to sign the Dutch attacking midfielder last summer. However, Simons will not be moving to Munich this summer.

According to Sky Sports in Germany, Simons has decided to go out on loan to RB Leipzig for one more season. Leipzig will soon wrap up the deal to keep Simons at the club for one more season.

Bayern are focussing on signing Désiré Doué for Rennes after missing out on Simons. They have made a second bid for the French winger. Die Roten are facing strong competition from Paris Saint-Germain for Doué. If a move for Doué doesn’t materialize, Bayern are likely to pursue a move for Dani Olmo from RB Leipzig. The Bavarian club has held talks with Olmo’s agents this summer.
